Belize Bank extends partnership with Finastra

One of the largest banks operating in Belize, Belize Bank provides retail, corporate and commercial banking services. It is owned by Caribbean Investment Holdings Limited (CIHL), which recently completed the acquisition of the local operations of Scotiabank.

Belize Bank first started working with Finastra in 2014 and migrated its legacy core to Fusion Essence in 2017.

“Our transformation required a platform that would allow us to expand our presence both locally in Belize as well as in the wider region,” says Jose Cardona, chief information officer (CIO), Belize Bank.

“Fusion Essence provides that platform; it enables us to launch products rapidly into the market.”

The migration of Scotiabank’s accounts and data onto Finastra’s platform was completed in an “aggressive” timeframe of under 12 months, says Narendra Mistry, chief product officer (CPO), universal banking at Finastra.

Elsewhere, Finastra has recently partnered with India’s Kotak Mahindra Bank to power Kotak FYN, its new integrated corporate banking portal.
