Pennsylvania-based financial software firm Savana has hired fintech veteran Emily Steele as the company’s new president and chief operating officer (COO).
Steele will replace Mike Wolfel, the firm’s previous president and chief technology officer (CTO), who will now become the company’s CEO while also maintaining the position of CTO. The company’s previous CEO, Michael Sanchez, will take up the position of executive chairman.
Steele brings with her over 20 years of experience working in the fintech and banking software sector. Most recently, she served as president of Temenos, North America.
In her new role, Steele will focus on three areas of growth for the company – go-to-market strategy, customer delivery and success, and employee expansion.
Founded in 2009 and headquartered in Malvern, Pennsylvania, Savana operates a digital delivery platform, providing banks with “customer-centric” banking software for digital transformation or creating and launching a new bank.
The company recently closed a $45 million Series A round led by Canadian growth-stage investor Georgian.
