SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Sims Limited announced publication of its 2022 Sustainability Reporting Suite. The suite comprises FY22 sustainability report, sustainability databook and inaugural climate report. It highlights the company’s sustainability achievements and progress in its journey towards decarbonisation.

The report noted that Sims Limited sourced 37% electricity from renewable sources in FY22. Sims Limited has already committed to use 100% renewable electricity across all of its operations by 2025. It achieved 21% reduction in carbon footprint during the year from its FY20 baseline. In addition to accelerating its carbon-neutral target commitment by 12 years, it achieved the target of 25% women in leadership roles across the company.

The company reported record year in safety performance, achieving its lowest recordable injury frequency rate (TRIFR) in its history of 1.14 per 200,000 hours. Also, it reported the lowest number of lost time incidents at a rate of 0.23 and a critical risk incident rate of 0.35, mainly attributed to the various innovative solutions implemented by it to manage safety risks.
