Tata Steel Capex Plan Focuses on India, Europe Steel Operations

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): United States Steel Corporation (U.S. Steel) presented $1 million in donations to Osceola-area organization through its Big River Works facilities. The donations are aimed at strengthening infrastructure and essential services so as to equip communities for the future. The award winners were selected based on recommendations by a panel of local community leaders.

The steelmaker granted $425,000 in grant towards relocating the South Mississippi County Regional Medical Center’s (SMCRMC) emergency room, which was damaged by recent flooding. The grant will also be used for purchasing life-saving equipment and constructing a helipad.

In addition to the above, a sum of $405,000 has been allocated for providing new equipment for Osceola’s police, firefighters, city services and first responders. The other donations include $80,000 to fund a program for at-risk youth by the Arkansas Northeast College Foundation, $30,000 each as additional funding to the Mississippi County Community Foundation and the Mississippi County Arkansas Economic Opportunity Commission and $20,000 to improve Luxora Park.
